Good Morning Radhe Radhe wish you healthy safe and happy Tuesday 20th day of October 2020 fourth day of Navratri of nine-day festival a very auspicious day. This year each day in Navaratri with presence of Durga ji makes our home a temple .( Ghar Ekk Mandir ) .Let’s try to know more about Navaratri
The word “Navaratri
The word “Navaratri” is a conjunction of two words “Nava” (meaning “nine”) and “Ratri“ (meaning “night“). Spread over 9 nights and 10 days, we worship Goddess Durga or Shakti, which represents the total energy in the universe. It is also a reminder of the historical status of women in India and how they hold lot more power
History of Navaratri
One of the fiercest daemons in the ancient times, Mahishasura undertook severe penance to obtain a boon. According to this boon, he could not be killed by any male. Underestimating the power of the women, he started creating havoc everywhere. To stop him, Shakti came in a very beautiful form and told him that she would marry him if he defeats her in a battle. It is believed that they battled for 9 days, and on the 10th day, Durga(shakti in a Beautiful Form) killed Mahishasura. Therefore the 10th day is called Vijayadhsmi
Conclusion
Goddess Durga fought with demon Mahishasura to show the world that ‘Good always wins over evil’, thus restoring Dharma back. Also, this festival is synonymous with God Rama defeating Ravana which also marks that Good wins over evil. This is an important festival all around the word because it is a sign of happiness and prosperity. These 9 Devis of Navratri mark the incarnation of Goddess Durga into nine forms and how each form has importance. In next few days we will try to learn more about each form . To me this also means that good thoughts makes us strong to win over our own weakness . This also teach us to love our mother who gave us birth and brought in this world and did everything to keep us happy while she remain hungry but ensue we had enough food , shelter and cloth .Lucky is the individual’s who still gets mothers love .
