What prompted me to learn is posting in our Ramayana group by Neelesh ji about video song of Surdasji.
हाथ छुड़ाये जात हो, निर्बल जानि के मोय । हृदय से जब जाओगे, तो सबल जानूँगा तोय ।।
This means Hands are being redeemed, the weak are the people of the body. When you go from the heart, I will know the strength. It’s important to see from eyes in our heart .This also means that we need to make our internal thought process strong that we start realizing good around the world. The moment we pray or do any work from the heart touching means with fill dedication and concentration the bond between the Lord and his devotee is strongest in the world.This can be adopted in our life when we determined like Surdas ji who was blind from the birth still he can see lord in same way we will see positive results in our life
हमारे दिल किआंखों से देखना महत्वपूर्ण है। इसका मतलब यह भी है कि हमें अपनी आंतरिक विचार प्रक्रिया को मजबूत बनाने की आवश्यकता है कि हम दुनिया भर में अच्छा महसूस करना शुरू कर दें।
जिस क्षण हम प्रार्थना करते हैं या दिल को छूने से कोई भी काम करते हैं, उसका मतलब है कि पूर्ण समर्पण और एकाग्रता के साथ प्रभु और उनके भक्त के बीच का बंधन दुनिया में सबसे मजबूत है। इसे हमारे जीवन में अपनाया जा सकता है जब हम सूरदास जी की तरह निर्धारित करते हैं जो जन्म से अंधे थे, फिर भी वह भगवान को उसी तरह से देख सकते हैं जैसे हम अपने जीवन में सकारात्मक परिणाम देखेंगे।
Brief Introduction
Surdas was a very prominent devotional saint during the 16th century. Even though he was blind by birth, he composed three poetic masterpieces in Braj Bhasha, the local language of Vrindavan. He is considered to be the foremost of the poets the Sri Vallabha Sampradaya designates as its Aṣṭachāp.
Surdas was born in Siri village near Delhi in 1478 A.D. Being blind by birth, the world including his parents, were unkind to him.
In this miserable state, Surdas one day heard a group of singers passing by his house, and realised the great joy of music. At the tender age of six, he followed them. However, the group was not pleased with the idea of being burdened with the blind boy and abandoned him at a lake where they rested for the night. Surdas was now truly alone. The young boy had a natural instinct to survive and by the age of 14 he had developed a keen sixth sense, and was known as the miracle boy.
One night, Surdas dreamt of Lord Krishna and people praising Him through bhajans. Surdas woke up and was convinced that the Lord was calling to him. So he reached Gau ghat, near the Yamuna banks in Mathura. Here he started writing poems and setting them to music.
At Gau ghat, Surdas had the good fortune of meeting the great learned Saint Sri Vallabhacharya. This was one of the turning points in the life of Surdas. Sri Vallabhacharya saw the devotion and humility of Surdas and asked him to sing the leelas of Lord Krishna. Surdas said that he did not know the secret of Lord Krishna’s leelas. Sri Vallabhacharya accepted him as his disciple and recited him the Krishna leelas. The Lord’s leelas occupied the heart and mind of Surdas. This inspired him to create and sing the poems on the life of Sri Krishna. Later Surdas along with his Guru left for Gokul from Gau ghat. Surdas would compose and sing hymns based on Krishna leela to his Guru.

मुझे निर्बल जानकार मेरा हाथ छुड़ाकर जाते हो कृष्णा
“हाथ छुड़ाये जात हो, निर्बल जानि के मोय ।
हृदय से जब जाओगे, तो सबल जानूँगा तोय ।।”
संत सूरदास जी के जीवन का एक प्रसंग-
एक बार संत सूरदास को किसी ने भजन के लिए आमंत्रित किया..
भजन कार्यक्रम के बाद उस व्यक्ति को सूरदास जी को अपने घर तक पहुँचाने का ध्यान नही रहा और वह अन्य अतिथियों की सेवा में व्यस्त हो गया।
सूरदास जी ने भी उसे तकलीफ नहीं देना चाहा और खुद लाठी लेकर गोविंद–गोविंद करते हुये अंधेरी रात मे पैदल घर की ओर निकल पड़े ।
रास्ते मे एक कुआं पड़ता था ।
वे लाठी से टटोलते–टटोलते भगवान का नाम लेते हुये बढ़ रहे थे और उनके पांव और कुएं के बीच मात्र कुछ इंच की दूरी रह गई थी कि…..
उन्हे लगा कि किसी ने उनकी लाठी पकड़ ली है, …
तब उन्होने पूछा – तुम कौन हो ? उत्तर मिला – बाबा, मैं एक बालक हूँ । मैं भी आपका भजन सुन कर लौट रहा हूँ । देखा कि आप गलत रास्ते जा रहे हैं, इसलिए मैं इधर आ गया । चलिये, आपको घर तक छोड़ दूँ।
सूररदास ने पूछा- तुम्हारा नाम क्या है बेटा ?
“बाबा, अभी तक माँ ने मेरा नाम नहीं रखा है।‘
तब मैं तुम्हें किस नाम से पुकारूँ ?
कोई भी नाम चलेगा बाबा..
सूरदास ने रास्ते मे और कई सवाल पूछे।
उन्हे लगा कि हो न हो, यह कन्हैया है,
वे समझ गए कि आज गोपाल खुद मेरे पास आए हैं । क्यो नहीं मैं इनका हाथ पकड़ लूँ ।
यह सोंच उन्होने अपना हाथ उस लकड़ी पर कृष्ण की ओर बढ़ाने लगे ।
भगवान कृष्ण उनकी यह चाल समझ गए ।
सूरदास का हाथ धीरे–धीरे आगे बढ़ रहा था । जब केवल चार अंगुल अंतर रह गया, तब श्री कृष्ण लाठी को छोड़ दूर चले गए । जैसे उन्होने लाठी छोड़ी, सूरदास विह्वल हो गए, आंखो से अश्रुधारा बह निकली ।बोले – “मैं अंधा हूँ ,ऐसे अंधे की लाठी छोड़ कर चले जाना क्या कन्हैया तुम्हारी बहादुरी है ?
और..
उनके श्रीमुख से वेदना के यह स्वर निकल पड़े
“हाथ छुड़ाये जात हो, निर्बल जानि के मोय ।
हृदय से जब जाओगे, तो सबल जानूँगा तोय ।।”
अर्थात् मुझे निर्बल जानकार मेरा हाथ छुड़ा कर जाते हो, पर मेरे हृदय से जाओ तो मैं तुम्हें बलवान कहूँ ।
भगवान कृष्ण ने कहा..
“बाबा, अगर मैं ऐसे भक्तो के हृदय से चला जाऊं तो फिर मैं कहाँ रहूँ
Once, blind Surdas fell into a well and he called upon Lord Krishna for help. Lord Krishna came immediately to help Surdas and took hold of His devotee’s hand, and pulled him out of the well.
When Surdas came out of the well, Krishna began to leave. As soon as Surdas recognised the divine touch of Krishna, his heart sank and with tears filled his eyes.
He said you have left my hand and slipped off thinking I am weak, but let me see how you can slip off from my heart.
Krishna was surprised how Surdas recognized him. He asked Surdas that “how did he know that the person helping him is Krishna ?” Then Surdas replied who will hold the hand of this blind person except you Krishna.
The moment was heart touching and the bond between the Lord and his devotee is strongest in the world
