Today is Shivratri and I remember very famous Ramayana Mantra “मंगल भवन अमंगल हारी। द्रवउ सो दसरथ अजिर बिहारी।” My mother Srimati Kamalrani ji Ramratan ji used to read Ramayana and used to tell us one similar mantra मंगल भवन अमंगल हारी। उमा सहित जेहि जपत पुरारी।is much more powerful as Shiv ji pray Lord Ram. I thought to share her thoughts and explain the importance of both the mantras. Most important to remember Shiv ji pray Shriram !!! In same way Shriram prays Shiv ji . This means one doesn’t exist without one another means both Shiv ji and Ram ji is just ONE !!
Yes this mantra make us strong and remove our sorrow specially when our mind stop thinking and we can’t come out of our current issue get feel as directionless . We don’t see positivity and only think negative then Shriram gives us shelter in our heart by consoling our heart and mind to say there is life exists just believe in me (Ram ji & Shiv ji) by chanting this mantra .
मानस के मंत्रों को सिद्ध करने और जप के अपने नियम तो हैं, पर बिना किसी खास नियम के, केवल एकाग्र मन से भी मंत्र का प्रयोग किसी भी अवस्था में किया जा सकता है. अचानक संकट उत्पन्न होने पर कोई भी कभी भी कातर भाव से इसे जप सकता है

एहि महँ रघुपति नाम उदारा। अति पावन पुरान श्रुति सारा।।
मंगल भवन अमंगल हारी। उमा सहित जेहि जपत पुरारी।।
भनिति बिचित्र सुकबि कृत जोऊ। राम नाम बिनु सोह न सोऊ।।
बिधुबदनी सब भाँति सँवारी। सोन न बसन बिना बर नारी।।
सब गुन रहित कुकबि कृत बानी। राम नाम जस अंकित जानी।।
सादर कहहिं सुनहिं बुध ताही। मधुकर सरिस संत गुनग्राही।।
जदपि कबित रस एकउ नाही। राम प्रताप प्रकट एहि माहीं।।
सोइ भरोस मोरें मन आवा। केहिं न सुसंग बडप्पनु पावा।।

स्याम सुरभि पय बिसद अति गुनद करहिं सब पान।

भावार्थ:- इसमें श्री रघुनाथजी का उदार नाम है जो अत्यन्त पवित्र है. यह नाम सभी वेद-पुराणों का सार है, कल्याण का भवन या आसरा है और अमंगलों को हरने वाला है जिसे पार्वतीजी सहित भगवान शिवजी सदा जपा करते हैं.
It contains the generous name of Shri Raghunathji, which is very holy. This name is the essence of all the Vedas and Puranas, the building or shelter of welfare and the destroyer of evils, which Lord Shiva along with Parvati ji always chants.

बंदउँ बालरूप सोई रामू। सब सिधि सुलभ जपत जिसु नामू।।
मंगल भवन अमंगल हारी। द्रवउ सो दसरथ अजिर बिहारी।।
करि प्रनाम रामहि त्रिपुरारी। हरषि सुधा सम गिरा उचारी।।
धन्य धन्य गिरिराजकुमारी। तुम्ह समान नहिं कोउ उपकारी।।
पूँछेहु रघुपति कथा प्रसंगा। सकल लोक जग पावनि गंगा।।
तुम्ह रघुबीर चरन अनुरागी। कीन्हहु प्रस्न जगत हित लागी।।
दो0-रामकृपा तें पारबति सपनेहुँ तव मन माहिं।
सोक मोह संदेह भ्रम मम बिचार कछु नाहिं।।112।।
अर्थ : जो मंगल करने वाले और अमंगल हो दूर करने वाले है , वो दशरथ नंदन श्री राम है वो मुझपर अपनी कृपा करे।दशरथ-पुत्र राम, जो मंगल(कल्याण) करनेवाले हैं एवं अमंगल को दूर करनेवाले हैं, वो मुझ पर कृपा करें।
May that home of bliss and bane of woe take compassion on me; He who sports in the courtyard of King Dasharatha.
Conclusion
Another chopai “Naam prabhav jan shiv niko. Kal koot phal dinha ami ko.” Lord Shiva thoroughly understands the glory of ‘Naam’ by virtue of which he drank poison and it was transformed into nectar.
“Naam prabhav Shambhu avinashi. Saj amangal mangal rashi. Mangal bhawan amangal hari, uma sahit jehi japat purari.” (Due to the power of the Name Lord Shiva is immortal and the home of blessings).
What is that ‘Naam’ which Lord Shankar and Uma remember? Today, there is not one person here who follows Lord Rama! He said long ago, “Aurahun ek sugupta mat, sabahin kahaun kari jori. Shankar bhajan bina nar, bhagati na pawahin mori.”
“I will tell you a secret. Nobody can be truly my devotee unless he does Shiva-meditation”. Mahamantra (the primordial vibration) is that which Lord Shankar also meditates upon. Only this can liberate and is the same thing as the Shankar bhajan (Lord Shiva’s meditation), without which nobody can achieve real devotion to Lord Rama.
It is said, “ Ram ek tapas tiya tari. Naam koti khal kumati sudhari .” Ram granted redemption to one lady, Ahilya, but the Name has liberated thousands of devotees.
“Ram bhalu kapi katak batora. Setu hetu shram kinha na thora. Naam let bhawshindhu sukhahin karahu vichar sajjan man mahin.” – Rama enlisted the help of an army of monkeys and bears and with much difficulty built a bridge, whereas simply remembering the Name dries up the ocean of mortality!
