Differentiate between Right and Wrong.
One of good teaching Ramayana gives is to develop ability to Differentiate between Right and Wrong. This is GURU MANTRA to remain happy and keep our smile . Ramayana teaches us to choose right over wrong. Bharat should have enjoyed the royalty and the power and luxury which he got. But his right decision took him to the forest to look for Rama and give his honor back.
One of the greatest Life lessons to learn from Ramayana I learned that When you make the right decision, you lose nothing. Instead, you earn a lot of respect and trust from others. Bharat couldn’t have earned the respect if he accepted the Kingdom. This kind of thinking comes from the SANSKAR (Moral Values) that we learn and adopt in our life . Let’s pay close attention for long term gain and how to cultivate and retain good value system that allows us to become morally strong to make right choices in our life .
Comment from Sister Kiran Gupta –Bharat went to Ram ji with all related public and family to request him to return Ayodhya In first meeting called first Bharat sabha (meeting)
Bharat requested Ramji to return Ayodhya along with Sitaji and he would go to vanwas with Laxman alternatively both Ramji and Laxman return to Ayodhya and both Bharat and Shatrughan would go to vanwas (forest )
This discussion was continued but dismissed as King Janakji ( father of Sita ji) arrived
After another day again bharat sabha started with attendance from all Gurus, King Janak ji and all public .At conclusion Ram ji agreed to accept whatever Bharat would decide . Shri RAM ji has complete confidence that Bharat is known to follow Dharma .
At last Bharat said it was his fault to come to request Ramji to return to Ayodhya as their father Dashrath had accepted to die to keep his promise to queen Kaikaey hence it’s on correct on Bharat part to revert decision as it will be understood that his father was wrong. All holy water for Raj Tilak of Ram ji as per instruction’s of Guru’s dropped in many places and one of place that became famous as Bharat koop ( well)
What we learn from Bharat ji
Bharat had many options to live in Ayodhya and tasting and enjoying every good thing as King . Although living in a beautiful kamdhenu Ayodhya, Bharat returned but with body his soul was with Ram ji.
He returned Ayodhya and made the necessary arrangements for family and all the people in the kingdom .He spent his entire life as vanwasi in town Nandigram. Bharat made jatajoot and simple cloth like saint exactly like Ram ji .
One more difference Ramji went his wife Sita ji to forest but Bharatji spent without his wife for 14 years . till Ram ji came back after killing Ravan back to Ayodhya ans sworn as king . This is the reason Bharat name is mentioned as most auspicious as person who followed Dharma (muni wastra and tehi pur basat bhart bihu raga. Anaskt bhao se parnkuti me rahne lage.sab kuch rahte hue usse binu ragu bana anaskti ke rahna bahut badi bat hai. Bharat sam dam sanjam niyam upasa se nandigram me wanwasi jiwan bitane lage.)
Unity has power
Ramayana teaches us that the Unity has power. United, we can overcome any difficulty in life. Siblings must love, care, and protect each other. Each one of the member of Ram ji’s family and all friends provides us an example how to maintain strong personal bond like Lakshman ji accompanied his brother Ram for 14-year-long vanvas, Bharatnji refused to accept the throne after his father’s demise and waited for Ram to return from his vanvas, Sita ji accompanied Ram in all walk of life ,Hanuman ji remained committed and ready for any assignment.
Always take a stand for our family because together, a family can win over any situation. The result of togetherness gives the energy to sail the ship when the tide seems higher than the sky.
I remember how our parents used to manage the joint family . Surely it was not easy as each member must reciprocate mutual respect without hurting each other’s feelings.
In Today’s situations we find many examples that we learn and bring change in our life . During COVID community came together and extended help each other to keep all of us united . The world is full of so many good examples that teaches us nothing is impossible or hard provided we determined to bring a change in our thoughts and action . Learning and adopting moral values from Ramayana surely provide as guide to remain connected with each other .
