Prior to start of Sunderkand we need to do invocation (आवाहन) to request Shri Hanuman ji to join Shriram ji katha and at the conclusion प्रस्थान-(विदाई)-DEPARTURE allows Hanuman ji to go to another start of Ram ji Katha.सुंदरकांड प्रारंभ करने के पहले हनुमानजी व भगवान रामचंद्र जी का आवाहन जरूर करें। जब सुंदरकांड समाप्त हो जाए, तो भगवान को भोग लगाकर, आरती करें। तत्पश्चात उनकी विदाई भी करें।

When Bhagavan Shri Ram completes his leela and at the end decides to return to his abode (Vaikunth), he doesn’t go alone, but takes everyone in Ayodhya with him including insects, dogs and other animals. Everyone proceeds with him to the river Saryu to reach his abode when suddenly, someone realised Shri Hanumanji was not with them. The devotee said to God, “Your greatest follower, Shri Hanumanji, cannot be seen and the first person worthy of entry in your abode should be a follower like him.”
जब भगवान श्री राम अपनी लीला पूरी करते हैं और अंत में अपने निवास (वैकुंठ) लौटने का फैसला करते हैं, तो वे अकेले नहीं जाते, बल्कि कीड़े, कुत्ते और अन्य जानवरों सहित अयोध्या में सभी को अपने साथ ले जाते हैं। हर कोई उनके साथ सरयू नदी की ओर अपने निवास स्थान तक पहुंचने के लिए आगे बढ़ता है, जब अचानक किसी को पता चला कि श्री हनुमानजी उनके साथ नहीं हैं। भक्त ने भगवान से कहा, "आपका सबसे बड़ा अनुयायी, श्री हनुमानजी, नहीं देखा जा सकता है और आपके निवास में प्रवेश के योग्य पहला व्यक्ति उनके जैसा अनुयायी होना चाहिए।"
One follower turned behind and saw that Hanumanji was standing outside Ayodhya watching everyone leave and bidding farewell to Shri Ramji with tears in his eyes. Shri Ramji summoned Hanumanji who immediately presented in front of Shri Ramji. Shri Ramji said,
एक अनुयायी ने पीछे मुड़कर देखा कि हनुमानजी सभी को विदा होते देख अयोध्या के बाहर खड़े होकर श्री रामजी की आंखों में आंसू लेकर विदा कर रहे हैं। श्री रामजी ने हनुमानजी को बुलाया जिन्होंने तुरंत श्री रामजी के सामने प्रस्तुत किया। श्री रामजी ने कहा
“Hanuman, come with us. Why are you standing there all alone? I am taking everyone with me and you deserve to be in my abode first.” “Hanumanji replied, “Lord, please answer one question, will I get to hear your katha in your abode?”
“हनुमान, हमारे साथ आइए। तुम वहाँ अकेले क्यों खड़े हो? मैं सभी को अपने साथ ले जा रहा हूं और आप पहले मेरे निवास में रहने के योग्य हैं।
Ramji smiled and said, “Oh! I will be present there myself!”To this Hanumanji said, “Lord, you will definitely be there, but this servant is asking if your katha will be there?”
Ramji responded, “Hanuman! My katha is only available on this earth. I will be present in my abode, but my katha will not be.”
हनुमानजी ने उत्तर दिया, "भगवान, कृपया एक प्रश्न का उत्तर दें, क्या मुझे आपके निवास में आपकी कथा सुनने को मिलेगी।
Hanumanji said, “Lord, then you proceed to your abode. Please command this servant of yours to stay here. Until your katha is present on this earth, bestow me with your blessings that I will continue to listen to it.”To this Ramji said, “so be it!”
हनुमानजी ने कहा, "भगवान, आप अपने निवास के लिए आगे बढ़ें। कृपया अपने इस सेवक को यहाँ रहने की आज्ञा दें। जब तक आपकी कथा इस धरती पर मौजूद है, मुझे अपने आशीर्वाद के साथ प्रदान करें कि मैं इसे सुनता रहूंगा।" इस पर रामजी ने कहा, "ऐसा ही हो!"
Hence, Shri Hanumanji did not proceed to Shri Ramji’s abode due to the longing for Ram Katha.
Prabhu charitra sunibe ko rasiya, Ram Lakhan Sita man basiya
Meaning: You are an ardent listener, always keen to listen to Shri Ram’s katha.
You dwell in the hearts of Shri Ram, Shri Lakshman and Shri Sita.
Shri Hanumanji either listens to Ram Katha or narrates it, and whoever Shri Hanumanji has narrated the Ram Katha to, has indeed attained Shri Ram. For example, Shri Hanumanji narrated Ram Katha to Sugriv and Sugriv met Shri Ram; Shri Vibhishanji acquainted Shri Ram after listening to Ram Katha from Shri Hanumanji as seen in Sunderkand in Shri Ram Charit Manas.
Shri Hanumanji narrated Ram Katha in Ashok Vatika which Maa Sita heard. Hence Maa Sita re-united with Shri Ram:
“Ram Chandra goon barne laagaa, sunatahi Sita kar dukh bhaagaa“
Meaning: As soon as Shri Hanumanji narrated the Ram katha, Shri Sitaji’s grief disappeared.
Shri Hanumanji is such a great and thoughtful narrator. One who listens to him without doubt, gains darshan of Shri Ram. In addition, he is also a great listener. He listens to Ram Katha with complete affection. It is tradition to invite Shri Hanumanji at the beginning of every Ram Katha, as who can be a better listener than him? And Indeed, Hanumanji does arrive to listen to Ram Katha. Let us all pray to Shri Hanumanji to bless us all with his grace so that we can affectionately listen to Shri Ram Katha every day

Prayer to Invite hanumanji
विदाई — प्रस्थान।- Departure.
जै जै राजा राम की जै लक्ष्मण बलवान ।
जै कपीस सुग्रीव की जै अंगद हनुमान ॥
जै जै काग भुसुण्डि की जै गिरि उमा महेश ।
जै ऋषि भारद्वाज की जै तुलसी अवधेश ॥
प्रभु सन कहियो दण्डवत तुमहिं कहौ कर जोर ।
बार-बार रघुनाय कहिं सुरति करावहुँ मोर ॥
कामहि नारि पियार जिमि लोभहि प्रिय जिमि दाम।
तिमि रघुनाथ निरंतर प्रिय लागहँ मोहि राम ॥
बार – बार वर मांगहँ हर्ष देहु श्री रंग ।
पद सरोज अन पायनी भक्ति सदा सत संग ॥
प्रणत पाल रघुवंश मणि करुणा सिंध खरारि ।
गये शरण प्रभु राखिहैं सब अपराध बिसार ॥
कथा विसर्जन होत है सुनो वीर हनुमान,
जो जन जह से आये हैं ,ते तः करो पयान।
श्रोता सब आश्रम गए,शम्भू गए कैलाश।
रामायण मम ह्रदय मह ,सदा करहु तुम वास।
रामायण जसु पावन,गावहिं सुनहिं जे लोग।
राम भगति दृढ़ पावहिं ,बिन विराग जपयोग।
रामायण बैकुण्ठ गई सुर गये निज-निज धाम ।
राम चंद्र के पद कमल बंदि गये हनुमान ॥
The word “Chiram” is permanent and “Jeevi” is lived, means immortal i.e. living even today. In the sense of celestial well-being immortal means, living eternally until the end of the universe.
